If you get blue or green stains on your fixtures or around drains, it is usually due to having corrosive acidic water.
Corrosive acidic water has a pH level less than 7.0.
Corrosive acidic water causes the blue and green staining that you see around your fixtures and draining. This is from your copper pipes deteriorating into your water and appearing on fixtures and drains.
If you let this occur for too long your plumbing will start leaking and may cause major water damage and mold. Your property will need to a full re-pipe replacement.
A quality pH neutralizer filter will raise the pH level to 7.0, which is a neutral state (no longer acidic water).
What Is Calcite Limestone Media?
Typically, when you have acidic water (low pH level), it means that the mineral content is low in your water. Minerals are what raises the pH in the water.
Calcite is a naturally occurring calcium carbonate media that has a self-limiting property. Calcite is a crushed milled marble.
When applied properly, calcite media corrects pH just enough to reach a non-corrosive equilibrium. It does not overcorrect under normal conditions.
When acidic waters comes into contact with the calcite media, it gradually dissolves the calcium carbonate (within the calcite) to raise the pH level which neutralizes the water.
This process helps prevents scale, and the deterioration of rust, copper, lead and other metals found within the plumbing system.

Typically, the soft water reserve capacity will be equal to one day's worth of water usage. If you begin using the soft water reserve early in the morning — during your shower at 6 a.m. for example — you will still have enough soft water to last til the night.
In combination with the high-efficient, Auto Refresh mode feature, SoftPro Elite softeners only requires a 15% reserve capacity auto set in the programming.
Other less-efficient, cheap systems require more water, up to 30% or more capacity too.
Higher peak water flow rates will power all of your appliances, tubs and showers.
Minimum Water Flow Rate Required:
The size of an iron filter or pH neutralizer system is dependent on the flow rate from your well pump.
Please check your flow rate to select the properly sized system. Do not select a system that requires a higher flow rate.
In general, match your effective well pump flow rate to the backwash requirements to select the appropriate filter size.
Typical size is the 1.5 CUFT size, if your well pump can accommodate. An option is that you can also select a smaller size, if higher flow rates are not required.
