Bemidji Municipal Water Report Info

The Public Works Department ensures that City water remains safe, streets are maintained during winter conditions, and traffic signage is properly serviced. The department manages a fleet of construction equipment, trucks, and city vehicles with 24 full-time employees plus seasonal staff across several divisions.

The Sewer/Water/Refuse Division operates municipal water and sanitary sewer systems, including residential refuse collection. City water is delivered through a comprehensive network of wells, water towers, pumping facilities and treatment plants that remove iron and manganese to ensure safety.

Wastewater travels through underground channels to treatment facilities. For sewer, water, and refuse inquiries, contact Todd Anderson at 218.333.1854. To initiate refuse service, call 218.759.3567.
