Texas Water Utility Companies

This report provides essential information about your water program, including water quality, source information, contaminant levels, and compliance with regulatory standards. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has evaluated our system, Bridgestone Municipal Utility District (Bridgestone MUD), and determined our water meets safety requirements. Analysis was conducted using data from the tables in this report with testing results through 2017.

Since our water meets all state and federal health standards for the sample period, there may not be health-based reasons to purchase bottled water or point-of-use devices. The Bridgestone MUD system identification number is 1011550. We appreciate your interest in learning about your municipal water. We look forward to continuing to provide you with safe, reliable water service.

Monitor Your Water Usage
Your water bill contains valuable information in a 12-month chart. You can compare your water usage to other residents in the District. The middle column at the top of your bill shows the average usage across Bridgestone's 5,877 homes for the month.

Important Health Information
Some individuals may be more vulnerable than the general population to certain microbial contaminants in tap water, including Cryptosporidium. Infants, elderly persons, and immunocompromised individuals (such as those undergoing cancer chemotherapy, organ transplant recipients, those on steroid treatment, and people with HIV/AIDS or other immune disorders) may be particularly at risk. Consult with your healthcare provider about your municipal water. Additional guidelines on reducing Cryptosporidium infection risk are available from the Safe Municipal Water Hotline at 800-426-4791.

Water Composition
EPA regulations limit the amount of certain contaminants in water provided by public water systems. FDA regulations establish similar limits for bottled water to provide the same public health protection. Municipal water, including bottled varieties, may reasonably contain small amounts of some contaminants. Their presence doesn't necessarily indicate a health risk. For more information about contaminants and potential health effects, contact EPA's Safe Municipal Water Hotline at 1-800-426-4791 or visit www.epa.gov/safewater. Bottled water information is available at www.nrdc.org/water/municipal/bw/bwinx.asp.

Water Conservation
The District's water distribution system lost approximately 5.70% of its water in 2017, well below the national recommended water loss standard of 10%. For questions about water loss assessments, please contact Water District Management at 281-376-8802.

Additional Testing
Daily testing is conducted at the water plant and throughout the community to ensure safe disinfectant levels. Water samples are regularly sent to a state-approved laboratory to verify the absence of harmful bacteria. No such bacteria have been detected in this water system.

Water Source Information
Bridgestone MUD receives surface water from the North Harris County Regional Water Authority as our primary supply. Additionally, we maintain 4 wells in the District that draw groundwater from the Gulf Coast Aquifers. These wells stand ready to meet system demands when needed. The Elevated Storage Tank (EST) near Lowe's is a distribution facility that receives water from the North Harris County Regional Water Authority. The EST is strategically located within the District to provide equal distribution throughout our water system.

Finding Water Leaks
Your water meter is typically located between the sidewalk and curb under a cover. To check for leaks, turn off all water in your home (indoor and outdoor faucets), then check the dial for movement of the low-flow indicator (triangle). Any movement indicates a leak.

1. Low-Flow Indicator (triangle) - Will spin if any water flows through the meter
2. Sweep Hand - Each complete revolution indicates 10 gallons passing through the meter
3. Meter Register - Like a car odometer, showing thousands of gallons used
