To ensure tap water safety, the EPA establishes regulations limiting contaminant levels in public water systems. Similarly, FDA rules set standards for bottled water to provide equivalent public health protection. All water sources, including bottled varieties, naturally contain small amounts of some contaminants, which doesn't necessarily indicate a health risk.

For more information about contaminants and potential health effects, contact the Environmental Protection Agency's Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 1-800-426-4791.

Dade City Water Department Municipal Water Report Info

Nestled in the rolling hills of eastern Pasco County, Dade City represents what many consider "historic" or "old" Florida through its physical landscape, pioneer heritage, and community spirit. Established in 1889, Dade City serves as Pasco County's seat and functions as a commercial hub for over 71,000 regional residents.

Downtown Dade City's restaurants and antique gift shops attract visitors from the Tampa Bay and Lakeland areas. The local economy traditionally centered on agriculture, particularly citrus and cattle production, but has gradually shifted toward service, government, and retail employment concentrated around the city center.

The downtown district was an early Main Street Program participant and continues thriving as a successful example of community redevelopment. Two notable educational institutions, St. Leo University and Pasco-Hernando State College, are located in the Greater Dade City area, as is the Pioneer Florida Museum.

Dade City hosts numerous popular community-sponsored events annually, including the Kumquat Festival, Church Street Christmas, and the Country Christmas Stroll. Additional events feature a half-marathon run, the Dade "Battle of Brilliance" bicycle racing event, and a monthly "Classic Car Cruise-in" held the first Saturday of each month.
