Water Conservation Tips

With affordable water readily available in our area, some residents water lawns excessively without considering conservation. This creates summer peak usage up to four times our average daily consumption, straining our treatment systems and potentially depleting aquifers. These demand spikes can cause shortages, equipment failures, and reduced water quality, ultimately increasing operational costs and customer rates.

Please follow these conservation practices:

  • Use a rain gauge and limit irrigation during adequate rainfall periods
  • Regularly check timers and consider installing rain sensors
  • Monitor irrigation systems for leaks, especially at connection points
  • Target sprinklers properly to avoid wasting water on paved surfaces

Lino Lakes Water Restrictions:

  • Year-round prohibition on lawn watering between 10:00 am-6:00 pm
  • Odd/even watering schedule in effect May 15-September 15
  • Exemptions for new sod/seed available by calling 651-982-2440
  • Restrictions don't apply to hand watering or private well usage
