About Us
Where does our municipal water come from? Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department draws water from wells approximately 150 feet below ground into the surficial aquifer. This represents a reliable and secure source that delivers high-quality water naturally free from many organisms typically found in surface water bodies.
Rainwater filters down to the aquifer through multiple layers of soil and sand that act as natural purifiers, removing many impurities. To ensure well safety, Palm Beach County Water Utilities actively monitors water quality in partnership with the county's Wellfield Protection Program.
After extraction, the water travels to treatment facilities where advanced technologies purify and disinfect it before distribution. Our system can produce over 100 million gallons of clean municipal water daily for our customers, meeting all safety standards and community needs.
