Surface Water Sources:
• Middle Fork Holston River and South Fork Holston River (Main System) - These surface waters undergo comprehensive treatment including coagulation, sedimentation, filtration, chlorination for disinfection, and fluoridation for dental health.
• Big Moccasin Gap Creek (Mendota) - Purchased from Scott County Public Service Authority and treated at the Moccasin Gap facility.
Groundwater Sources:
• Mill Creek Spring, Cole Spring, and Widener Spring - These groundwater sources are influenced by surface water and treated with membrane filtration, chlorination, and fluoridation.
• Reservation Spring (Main System) - Surface water treated with chlorination and fluoridation.
• Mendota Well - Groundwater disinfected with chlorine and treated with a sequestrating agent to control iron and manganese oxidation.
• Cardwell Town Well (Hayter's Gap) - A 450-foot deep groundwater source from the Tonoloway Limestone aquifer, purchased from Saltville.
• Saltville No. 10 Well (Hayter's Gap) - A 1,050-foot deep well drawing from the Honaker Formation aquifer.
