About Us
In 2017, the Village water system delivered 1,131,745,400 gallons to consumers. The Village employs several treatment processes including:
- Chlorination for disinfection
- Fluoridation for dental health
- Filtration for iron removal
- Specialized filtration for radium removal
Bartlett's water undergoes continuous testing by certified laboratories to ensure compliance with Illinois Environmental Protection Agency standards.
WATER RESOURCE
In March 2018, the Village began infrastructure improvements to transition to Lake Michigan water purchased through DuPage Water Commission. The full transition is expected to complete in 2019.
Currently, Bartlett utilizes two water sources that blend in the distribution system:
- Eight drilled wells located throughout town
- Water purchased from the City of Elgin (a blend of well water and treated Fox River water)
The Illinois EPA has completed Source-Water Assessments for both water sources and determined Bartlett's source water is not vulnerable to contamination. For detailed information, contact Water Supervisor Tom Ruzicka at Bartlett Public Works, 630-837-0811.
