Each year, the City of Clinton must publish a Municipal Water Quality Report as required by the ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY. These reports are available below for easy access, following federal regulations.

Canton residents benefit from abundant water supplies drawn from two high-quality groundwater sources: the Sparta and Cockfield aquifers. Our system extracts water through ten deep wells - six tapping into the Sparta aquifer and four from the Cockfield source. The city maintains five elevated storage tanks with a combined capacity of 2.9 million gallons. In 2017, our daily average consumption reached 3.5 million gallons flowing through approximately 175 miles of water mains.

Water Safety Information: We're pleased to present this Annual Water Quality Report (Consumer Confidence Report) as required by the Safe Drinking Water Act. This report provides information about your water source, its contents, and how it compares to regulatory standards. Last year, we tested for over 70 potential contaminants, detecting only 6, with just one exceeding EPA limits (see Violations section for details).

Special Health Considerations: Some individuals may be more vulnerable to water contaminants than the general population. Those with compromised immune systems - including cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, organ transplant recipients, HIV/AIDS patients, elderly individuals, and infants - should seek advice from healthcare providers about their drinking water. Guidelines for reducing infection risks from Cryptosporidium and other microbial contaminants are available through the Safe Water Drinking Hotline (800-426-4791).

Source Water Assessment: The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MSDEQ) source water assessment report is available for review upon request at the City of Clinton Public Works Department. 3. How do I reach the Bowie Police Department? For emergency calls for service, please dial 9-1-1. For non-emergency calls, call 301-352-1200. In both instances, a Bowie Officer will be dispatched. For questions, suggestions, or concerns about police services, please call 240-544-5700 to reach Administrative Offices. Call takers are available 24/7. Non-urgent inquiries can also be emailed to police@cityofbowie.org.
4. How do I report water pollutants or other problems with a neighborhood stream, pond, or storm drain? Please call the Public Works Department at 301-809-2344 to report these issues. You can also use our Service Request System to file the problem.
