About Us
The United States Environmental Protection Agency establishes and monitors primary water standards nationwide. National Primary Municipal Water Regulations (NPMWRs) are legally binding standards that apply to all public water systems. These primary standards protect community health by setting strict limits on contaminant levels in municipal water supplies.
Additionally, National Secondary Municipal Water Regulations (NSMWRs) serve as non-mandatory guidelines for substances that may cause aesthetic issues such as tooth or skin discoloration, or affect water's taste, odor, or appearance without posing immediate health risks.

Clackamas River Water ("CRW" or "District") operates as a regional water service provider organized under Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) Chapter 264. The district directly serves approximately 50,000 residents, with total service reaching up to 80,000 people when including wholesale customer populations.
For over 45 years, CRW has maintained exceptional water treatment operations, servicing nearly 12,000 connections through an extensive distribution network. This infrastructure includes roughly 262 miles of pipeline, 14 reservoirs, and 11 pump stations throughout the service area.
The current district was formed in July 1995 through the consolidation of Clackamas Water District and Clairmont Water District. The original Clackamas Water District dates back to 1926, later incorporating Stanley Water District in 1979 and merging with Barwell Park Water District in 1991. Clairmont was established in 1959 and later merged with Redland and Holcomb-Outlook Water Districts in 1983.
