EAWA provides service to over 6,300 customers across Elizabethtown Borough, Mount Joy Township and West Donegal Township, producing approximately 1.3 million gallons per day (GPD) of water on average.
EAWA's water comes from multiple sources. Surface water makes up 25% of total production, drawn from Back Run tributary, which is supplemented during dry periods with flow from Conewago Creek, which itself receives additional flow from the Cornwall Quarry. This surface water undergoes treatment at the Authority's filtration facility at 211 West Hummelstown St.
The remaining 75% of water is sourced from seven (7) deep wells. Treatment occurs directly at the well locations before distribution into the water system. The Authority's leadership team includes Authority Manager Del Becker, PE, Business Manager Michele Powl, and Operations Manager Jason Bock.
