About Us
Our primary water source is the Old Work Spring, located south of Cave Spring. Mill Spring provides treated water for customers in the southern and western regions of Floyd County. We also maintain a well in the northeast part of the county.
The Kingston Road and Fulton Road Wells serve customers in the northeast area, while The Brighton Water Treatment Plant in Shannon, GA processes surface water from Woodward Creek. Additionally, we purchase water from:
- City of Adairsville (treated surface water from Lewis Spring)
- City of Rome (treated surface water from Oostanaula and/or Etowah Rivers)
- City of Calhoun (treated surface water from Coosawattee/Oostanaula Rivers plus ground and spring sources)
We're proud to deliver this Annual Water Quality Report. Our constant goal is providing safe, reliable water service to our community. We continuously work to improve our treatment processes and protect our water resources.
Floyd County's water system routinely monitors for constituents according to Federal and State regulations. This report presents results from January 1 to December 31, 2017. All municipal water, including bottled water, may reasonably contain at least small amounts of some constituents, though their presence doesn't necessarily indicate a health risk.
For more information about contaminants and potential health effects, contact the EPA's Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 1-800-426-4791.

Municipal Water Utility Company FAQ

For more information on your municipal water, visit the U.S. CDC:
Floyd Water District Municipal Water Company and CDC- What payment methods do you accept? Your payment can be made via online credit card through our website, Automatic Bank Draft, check by mail, cash, check, or card at our office during business hours, or your bank's billpay system. We have an outside drop box available 24/7 at our office for check payments only.
- I used my bank's billpay system for my water bill. My bank confirmed the payment arrived before the due date, but I received a late fee. Why? We experience numerous issues with this monthly. First, your bank sends the payment check to a third-party print and mail company. We don't receive checks directly from your bank. Often, we receive one large envelope containing 100 payment checks from various banks. Second, your bank cannot verify when we actually receive your check as they're not sent with tracking. The delivery date shown in your account is only their estimate. Third, we process payments the same day and don't hold any payments. If payment isn't received before 5 pm on the due date, a penalty fee is assessed, regardless of checks in transit. Since we have no control over postal service, we encourage billpay users to schedule payments 7-10 business days early. To avoid postal issues, late fees, and credit card fees, consider enrolling in Automatic Bank Draft, which has no additional fees.
- I paid my bill online or via drop box the night before disconnect day, but still incurred a fee. Why? All payments are due by 5 pm on the due date to avoid penalties. Payments placed in the drop-box after 5 pm are posted the next day. We encourage customers to pay before 5 pm on the due date to avoid extra charges.
- Can I receive my bill by email? Yes, click Manage My Account and follow the process to create an account. Once established, click View My Account and Make Payment tab, select "Profile," then choose to receive email statements.
- I'm having problems with trash collection, who should I contact? For trash collection issues in Paloma Creek or Savannah, call Waste Management at 1-800-772-8653. For Cross Oak Ranch, contact IESI at 1-800-909-9061.
- I pay online, can you stop sending me an envelope? Yes, log in to your account through the "Pay My Bill" link, select receive statement electronically, and you'll no longer receive a paper bill and envelope.
