Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Municipal Water Company and CDCWhere does our water originate? The Southern Madison Water District obtains water from Berea Municipal Utilities. The source is surface water from Owsley Fork, Cowbell, Kales and B lakes located on Berea College property.
What is the connection fee? A $50 deposit plus a $30 activation fee is required for establishing new service.
When are late fees applied? Late charges take effect on the 11th of each month unless the 10th falls on a weekend or holiday, then it's the next business day.
How will I know if my service might be disconnected? The cut-off date will be clearly printed on your late notice if your service is scheduled for disconnection.
Is there a reconnection fee? Yes, standard reconnection costs $30. After-hours reconnection is $38.50.
Can I make payments by phone? Credit card payments are accepted by phone Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Can my payment be automatically withdrawn from my bank account? Yes, please visit our office to enroll in bank drafts. Your account will be drafted on the 10th monthly, or the next business day if the 10th falls on a weekend or holiday.
How can I learn the average bill for a property I'm moving to? Many factors affect water usage, including household size, usage patterns (laundry frequency, dishwashing methods, shower habits), etc. We cannot provide previous usage data. Compare your last bill with our rate sheet for estimates. Note: We provide water services only. City service may have included sewer, storm water, garbage or other utilities.
