Municipal Water Utility Company FAQ

For more information on your municipal water, visit the U.S. CDC:
Schofield Barracks Municipal Water Company and CDCFAQ What is the current watering schedule?
- Odd-numbered houses and businesses: Monday-Wednesday-Friday
- Even numbered houses and businesses: Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday
- Sundays: City and School District
Why do I see the City and others watering on Sundays?
To maintain our system balance, it's beneficial to have some water usage on Sundays. While residential and business watering isn't permitted, we allow larger users (City and School District) to utilize water then.
Why does it seem that the City waters every day?
Due to the size of certain parks and the cemetery, the City waters different sections each day. Though it may appear the same grass is watered daily, each area typically receives water just once weekly.
What watering violations could result in a fine?
- Watering on incorrect days
- Wasting water:
- Overwatering - Running sprinklers too long
- Watering during rainfall
- Watering on Sunday
What are the consequences of watering violations?
- First offense: Warning
- Second offense: Disconnection from secondary water system and $50 reconnect fee
- Third offense: Disconnection from secondary water system and $200 reconnect fee
Unauthorized reconnection: If property owners reconnect themselves after being shut off, a $500 penalty will be imposed along with possible legal action.
Water conservation is a community effort requiring everyone's cooperation. Overwatering violates our ordinance and is subject to citation. Despite recent rainfall, our region continues to face water supply challenges, so mindful usage remains essential.
