How can I prevent frozen pipes? Insulate exposed pipes, seal drafts around your home, or wrap pipes with appropriate heat tape. Running water at a slow trickle can prevent freezing, though this will increase your utility bills.

Is Marblehead water hard or soft? Our municipal water is naturally soft.

What causes cloudy water? This is typically due to air bubbles trapped in water when temperature changes from underground to above-ground levels.

Do I need water and sewer line insurance? The Marblehead Water and Sewer Commission neither endorses nor discourages such insurance. Homeowners are responsible for water lines from the curb to their home and sewer lines from the connection point to their residence. While breaks are rare, we recommend consulting your existing homeowners insurance provider before purchasing additional coverage.
