Meriden Water Division Municipal Water Report Information

For emergency situations after dark, contact the Meriden Police Department at 203-238-1911. For questions regarding your water/sewer bill, please reach the billing office between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 pm at 203-630-4256.

How to check your water system for leaks:

  1. Locate your water meter
  2. Take two readings - one at night after water usage has stopped and another in the morning before any water is used
  3. Calculate the difference to determine if water leaked overnight
  4. If you suspect a leak, inspect pipe connections and toilets

Checking for silent toilet leaks:

  1. Add a small amount of food coloring to the tank (DO NOT FLUSH)
  2. Wait 10 minutes without flushing
  3. If color appears in the toilet bowl, you have a silent leak, typically located around the flapper valve at the tank bottom

To restore water service after payment has been made, complete the Water Restoration Form and fax to 203-630-4061 or email Michelle Kane at mkane@meridenct.gov.
