The Courier-Leader serves as the primary news source for the Paw Bangor District, established through the merger of several historic publications. Founded in 1843 as The Free Press and Courier, it later consolidated with The True Northerner (est. 1854) to become The Courier Northerner in 1920.
Further expansion occurred when The Courier Northerner merged with the Lawrence Times (November 1957) and the Lawton Leader (November 1968), creating today's Courier-Leader. Published weekly on Fridays in Michigan's Van Buren County Seat, the paper maintains a circulation of over 3,200 copies distributed through subscriptions and local retailers.
The Paw Flashes, a supplementary publication released each Monday by VINEYARDMEDIA, reaches approximately 16,200 readers. Distribution covers the eastern portion of Van Buren County, serving communities including Paw, Lawton, Mattawan, Lawrence, Gobles, Decatur, Bloomingdale, and surrounding areas.
