We purchase your municipal water from the City of Everett. The water originates from Spada Reservoir, situated at the Sultan River headwaters approximately 30 miles east of Everett. Spada Reservoir was established in 1964 through collaboration with Snohomish County PUD and contains approximately 50 billion gallons of water.
From Spada Reservoir, water flows through a pipeline to the City of Everett Treatment facility at Chaplain Reservoir. Located about 8 miles downstream from Spada, Chaplain Reservoir holds roughly 4.5 billion gallons of water.
Spada Reservoir lies within the Sultan Basin Watershed - a geographic region where all precipitation drains into a single water body. In this watershed, rain and snowmelt from the Cascade Mountains flow into Spada Reservoir. The Sultan Basin Watershed covers roughly 84 square miles and ranks among the wettest watersheds on the western Cascade Mountains, with average rainfall of approximately 165 inches - five times greater than local precipitation. To maintain the naturally pristine water quality in Spada Reservoir, continuous monitoring occurs throughout the Sultan Basin.
