About Us
The City of Oak Harbor Water Department provides water services throughout Oak Harbor. For 2023, the City is again publishing its Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) for water customers. This report identifies your water source, any detected contaminants, potential health impacts of these substances, and resources for additional information.
Understanding water quality can be complex, but we've made this report both informative and accessible. When you enjoy your next glass of water, you can feel confident about its quality and safety. We all share responsibility for protecting our most valuable resource - water.
Water from the Anacortes Water Treatment Plant reaches Oak Harbor through 24-inch and 10-inch transmission lines. The water passes through a booster station where fluoride is added. By the time it reaches your tap, it has traveled approximately 89 miles through water mains.
Beyond residential and commercial service, the City supplies water to Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Deception Pass State Park, and North Whidbey Water District. The system includes four reservoirs with 7.15 million gallons capacity plus three deep wells for emergency use. Three interconnections with the NAS Whidbey water system provide access to additional emergency supplies if needed. As a water provider, the City of Oak Harbor must meet all state and federal water quality standards.
