Louisiana Water Utility Companies

We are pleased to present our Annual Water Quality Report for 2016. This document provides information about your water quality and the services we deliver daily. Our primary goal is to provide you with safe, dependable municipal water. We want to share the efforts we make to continuously improve our water treatment process and protect our valuable water resources.

A Source Water Assessment Plan (SWAP) is available at our office. This plan evaluates the area surrounding our water sources to identify potential contamination risks. According to this assessment, our water system received a 'HIGH' susceptibility rating. Please contact us if you'd like to review this important document.

The EPA establishes regulations limiting contaminant levels in public water systems to ensure tap water remains safe for consumption. FDA regulations set similar standards for bottled water. We believe informed customers make our best partners in water quality protection.

If you have questions about this report or want to learn more about your municipal water, please contact BERNARD J FRANCIS at 985-369-6156. The Louisiana Department of Health regularly monitors your water according to Federal and State regulations.

All municipal water may contain small amounts of some contaminants, though their presence doesn't necessarily indicate a health risk. Certain populations—including cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, organ transplant recipients, people with HIV/AIDS or immune disorders, some elderly individuals, and infants—may be particularly vulnerable to water contaminants. These individuals should seek advice from healthcare providers regarding safe water consumption.

Our monitoring detected the presence of coliforms, bacteria naturally present in the environment that serve as indicators for potential problems. When detected above allowable levels, we conducted the required assessment to identify and correct any issues. During the past year, we completed one Level 1 assessment as required.

Thank you for allowing us to provide your family with clean, quality water. The team at ASSUMPTION PARISH WW DISTRICT 1 works around the clock to deliver high-quality municipal water to every tap. We ask all residents to help protect our water resources, which are vital to our community, way of life, and children's future.
