City of Auburndale

We're pleased to report that our municipal water meets or exceeds all Federal and State requirements. The City of Auburndale routinely monitors for contaminants in your tap water according to established guidelines.

Municipal water sources include rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, reservoirs, springs, and wells. As water travels across land or underground, it dissolves naturally occurring minerals and sometimes radioactive materials, and can pick up substances from animal presence or human activity.

Potential source water contaminants include:

• Microbial contaminants such as viruses and bacteria from sewage treatment plants, septic systems, livestock operations, and wildlife
• Inorganic contaminants like salts and metals occurring naturally or from urban runoff, wastewater discharges, oil/gas production, mining, or farming
• Pesticides and herbicides from agricultural operations, urban stormwater runoff, and residential uses
• Organic chemical contaminants including synthetic and volatile compounds from industrial processes, petroleum production, gas stations, urban runoff, and septic systems
• Radioactive contaminants that occur naturally or result from oil/gas production and mining

The Test Results Table shows our 2018 monitoring results including previous years' data for less frequently sampled contaminants. Florida permits less frequent monitoring for certain contaminants when concentrations remain stable. For substances not requiring testing in 2018, results represent the most recent testing conducted per regulations.

Key terms in our reports include: Parts per million (ppm) or milligrams per liter (mg/L), Parts per billion (ppb) or micrograms per liter, Picocuries per liter (pCi/L) for radiation measurement, and Action Level (AL) which indicates concentration thresholds requiring treatment.
