Wisconsin Water Utility Companies

The 2017 Water Quality Report details Cudahy's water source, quality assessment, and protective measures implemented to maintain water safety. This report fulfills Federal Regulations outlined in the 1996 Safe Drinking Water Act amendments requiring annual public disclosures by all providers.

The Cudahy Water Utility, established in 1947, believes this information will benefit all customers. These findings are regularly submitted to both the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, which monitor compliance with regulations ensuring community water safety.

Our facility includes a 6.0 million-gallon per day treatment plant using Lake Michigan as its source. The treatment process incorporates coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, UV disinfection, and chlorine disinfection to deliver clean, safe water to Cudahy residents. For more information about this report or our treatment process, please contact Frank Miller at (414) 769-2234.

The Water Utility's budget, capital planning, and rates are overseen by the Water Utility Commission, consisting of five members appointed to five-year terms by the Mayor. Commission meetings typically occur at 4:30 PM on the third Thursday monthly at Cudahy City Hall. Visit the city website for schedule updates and agendas.

Water sources, including both tap and bottled water, come from various natural sources. As water travels across land or underground, it dissolves minerals and can pick up substances from animal presence or human activities.
