Oconomowoc Waterworks

The Oconomowoc Water Utility continuously monitors constituents in your water supply as required by Federal and State regulations. This year, the Utility collected over 255 water samples, with all results falling safely below the Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL). We're pleased to report that your water meets or exceeds all Federal and State requirements.

The Test Results Table on the following page displays our monitoring results from January 1st, 2013 to December 31st, 2017. All municipal water, including bottled water, can reasonably be expected to contain at least small amounts of some substances. It's important to understand that the presence of these constituents doesn't necessarily indicate a health risk. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has determined these levels to be safe for consumption.

Please remember that all water sources may be vulnerable to potential contamination from natural or human-made substances, including microorganisms, organic/inorganic chemicals, or radioactive materials. Even bottled water may contain small amounts of contaminants, which doesn't always suggest a health concern. Some individuals may be more sensitive to water contaminants than the general population. People with compromised immune systems—such as cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, organ transplant recipients, those with HIV/AIDS or other immune disorders, some elderly individuals, and infants—may face increased infection risks. These individuals should seek advice from healthcare providers regarding water consumption. Cross Connection Control Program: To protect public health and maintain a safe water system, we follow requirements from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Wisconsin Department of Commerce, and City of Oconomowoc Municipal Code. You can help ensure safe tap water by installing vacuum breakers on outdoor hose connections—these inexpensive devices are available at local hardware stores.
