About Us
Our utility is pleased to present this year's water quality report covering January through December 2017. As in previous years, we remain committed to delivering high-quality municipal water to our community.
We continue to meet regulatory challenges, protect source water, promote conservation, and engage with community education while serving all water users. Thank you for allowing us to serve your household.
Our treatment process involves five key steps:
- First, groundwater is drawn from our well field to an aeration tower where oxygen is introduced
- This oxygen facilitates iron and manganese oxidation, helping remove these elements
- Water then flows to a reaction basin where oxidized minerals precipitate out
- Chlorine added before this stage assists oxidation and provides initial disinfection
- Water passes through rapid-rate pressure filters to remove particulates and additional iron/manganese
The filtered water then undergoes ion-exchange softening, similar to home softeners but on a larger scale, removing calcium and magnesium that contribute to hardness. After softening to zero hardness, it's blended with untreated water to achieve ideal hardness levels. Finally, phosphate is added for corrosion control and chlorine for disinfection before storage and distribution.
