Monroe is proud to present our Annual Water Quality Report, also known as the Consumer Confidence Report (CCR). This document informs you about your water quality and the services we provide daily. Our mission is to deliver safe, reliable water, continuously improve our treatment processes, ensure adequate supply, and protect our water resources.

We value community involvement and welcome public input. City Council meetings occur at 6:30 PM on the second and fourth Wednesdays monthly at Council Chambers, 233 S. Main Street, Monroe, OH 45050. For more information about your water, please contact the Monroe Public Works Division at 513-727-8953.

SOURCE WATER INFORMATION: Monroe purchases water from Butler County Water and Sewer, which obtains surface water from Cincinnati and groundwater from Hamilton. All surface waters are highly susceptible to contamination as they're open systems without barriers to prevent contaminant movement and have relatively short travel times to public intakes. The complete Cincinnati report is available at https://gemgrp.com/eReports/CNMA000137Y18.pdf.

The Great Miami Buried Valley Aquifer supplying Hamilton's North and South Wellfields has high contamination susceptibility based on the aquifer's sensitivity and potential contaminant sources within the protection zone. This unconfined sand and gravel aquifer has water less than 30' below surface. The flat topography and sandy soils allow significant precipitation to infiltrate rather than run off.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS: Some individuals may be more vulnerable to water contaminants than the general population. Immuno-compromised persons—including cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, organ transplant recipients, HIV/AIDS patients, some elderly individuals, and infants—may face increased risk. These individuals should seek advice from healthcare providers. EPA/CDC guidelines on reducing infection risk from Cryptosporidium and other microbial contaminants are available from the Safe Drinking Water Hotline (1-800-426-4791).
