Northampton Boro Municipal Authority Municipal Water Report Info

Northampton Borough Municipal Authority (NBMA), established in 1940, provides water services across Northampton and North Catasauqua Boroughs, Allen Township in Northampton County, and Coplay Borough, Whitehall and North Whitehall Townships in Lehigh County.

NBMA maintains approximately 15,000 service connections, 175 miles of pipeline, and over 1,000 fire hydrants. They deliver an average of 3.5 million gallons of water daily to roughly 50,000 residents. Of their customer base, nearly 13,700 are residential accounts, with the remainder being commercial, industrial, public and bulk sales customers.

The authority utilizes two surface water sources: their primary supply comes from the Lehigh River, with supplemental water available from the Spring Mill Reservoir.

NBMA now offers bill payment services for customers who visit their main office at 1 Clear Springs Drive in Northampton. The 2017 Water Quality Report provides valuable information about contaminant testing results and daily water consumption impacts. Note that while it's 2018, this report covers the 2017 calendar year. Educators may find this a useful teaching resource for classroom water purification lessons.
