About Us
Water Provider Information: This report aims to provide essential information about your tap water and efforts by the Oak Forest water system to deliver safe municipal water. Oak Forest purchases water from Chicago through the Village of Oak Yard. This supply is received into our reservoirs and pumped to our local and retail customer base.
The water undergoes chlorination and regular sampling to maintain quality standards. We do not supplement or blend our water with any other source. For questions about this report, please contact: Oak Forest Water Division at (708) 535-4090.
Water Quality Management: The City of Chicago's Southern Water Treatment Plant oversees the water quality provided to Oak Forest. We add supplemental chlorine as needed to maintain optimal water quality. Chicago CCR data is included in this report for customer review.
Testing Protocols: Oak Forest tests daily for chlorine levels to maintain optimal consumer standards. Weekly bacteriological samples are collected, and quarterly samples are submitted for Total Trihalomethane (TTHM) and Haloacetic Acids (HAA5) analysis. Lead and copper monitoring follows IEPA schedules. All testing adheres to EPA requirements.
Between 2014-2015, four samples were collected and submitted for Unregulated Contaminants (UCMR3) according to USEPA schedules. The City of Chicago's 2017 Water Quality Data is included for your information.
