About Us
Water Supply Information
The Paulding County Water System purchases treated water from the Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority (CCMWA). CCMWA maintains two regional water sources that feed two treatment facilities. The Wyckoff Treatment Division draws from Lake Allatoona, a Corps of Engineers reservoir located in North Cobb, southern Cherokee and south Bartow Counties. The Quarles Treatment Division extracts water from the Chattahoochee River.
Both Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority and the Atlanta Regional Commission have completed Source Water Assessment (SWA) reports identifying potential sources of water contamination to surface drinking water supplies. This information helps residents understand the potential risks to drinking water sources and prioritizes protection efforts. The SWA provides:
- Mapping of water supply watersheds for each intake
- Inventory of potential contamination sources
- Assessment of drinking water vulnerability to identified contamination risks
- Development of public education about watershed protection
For additional details about this project, please review the complete Source Water Assessment documentation.
