The City of Roswell Water Utility Section, in collaboration with the Georgia Environmental Protection Division, conducted comprehensive laboratory testing for water quality parameters in 2017. All results fell well within acceptable ranges with no violations reported.

1. What is the bond debt fee for? The District continues to service debt for the Riverneck Road Treatment Plant, Crooked Spring Treatment Plant and other capital projects with bonds set to retire by FY2027. As of our latest audit (FY ending June 30, 2017), the remaining principal is $8,226,417, with remaining interest of $1,070,416, for a total debt of $9,296,833 due by FY2027.
2. What interest is charged on late payments? Unpaid balances accrue interest at 14% per annum if not paid by the due date. Charges remaining unpaid after 30 days may result in property liens according to Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 40, Sections 42A-42F. Water service may be terminated for non-payment.
3. Is my tap water safe? The Chelmsford Water District fully complies with the Safe Drinking Water Act, treating all water to meet state and federal requirements. Treatment includes corrosion control, disinfection, and removal of volatile organic chemicals, iron, and manganese.
