Beckley Water Organization residents benefit from an abundant water supply from two distinct sources. The Glade Creek Water Treatment Plant extracts surface water from the Glade Creek Reservoir, which stores approximately 1.3 billion gallons of water. Residents south of Piney Creek receive water exclusively from this facility.

Our second water source is groundwater from a subterranean reservoir located about 275 feet below ground. The Sweeneysburg Water Treatment Plant, constructed in 1993, draws from this underground pool containing approximately 1 to 1.5 billion gallons, which is continuously replenished from various underground sources.

Together, our treatment facilities provide roughly 3.5 billion gallons of clean municipal water annually. Our water supply is part of the Lower Fresh Watershed, covering approximately 692 square miles around Beckley. Forested areas comprise most (98%) of our watershed. For additional watershed information, visit the U.S. EPA's Browse Your Watershed at www.epa.gov/surf.

Delivering high-quality water involves much more than simply moving water through pipes. Our certified water professionals possess expertise in mathematics, biology, chemistry, and physics. Their regular responsibilities include:

Beckley Water Company Municipal Water Report Info

The Woodinville Water District, formerly known as King County Water District No. 104, operates as a municipal enterprise in King County, Washington. Established in 1959, the organization was officially renamed Woodinville Water District in 1985.

The District's first comprehensive water development plan was prepared by the District engineer in August 1960. By January 1963, the initial system construction was completed, allowing service delivery to customers.

All water is purchased from the City of Seattle for distribution. Most supply comes from the Tolt River Watershed, with occasional sourcing from the Cedar River Watershed. Since its founding, the District has expanded to cover approximately 30 square miles.

In 1969, the District began providing sewer services to a small customer segment, evolving into a water and sewer district while maintaining the Woodinville Water District name.

The first year of operation saw 14 million gallons of water served. By 1973, annual consumption reached 243 million gallons. In recent years, purchases have stabilized at around 1.5 billion gallons annually. Currently ranked as King County's 10th largest water and sewer district, it serves approximately 14,350 water customers and just over 3,000 sewer customers.

The District maintains over 295 miles of water main (4-16 inches), 8 metal reservoirs, 43 pressure reducing stations, 5 water and 2 sewer pump stations, and related facilities. Operations are overseen by an elected 5-member Board of Commissioners, supported by a General Manager and 34 staff members.
