Consolidated Public Water Supply District No. 1 of Boone County, Missouri formed in 1975 through the merger of three existing water districts: Boone County PWSD #5, #6 and #8. This pioneering consolidation was the first of its kind in Missouri state history.
The district expanded in 2000 by incorporating PWSD #7 of Boone County, followed by further growth in 2007 with the addition of PWSD #3 and Rocheport City. Today, the service territory covers approximately the southern half and west-central areas of Boone County, southeast Howard County and a small portion of southwestern Callaway County – spanning roughly 383 square miles in total.
Key infrastructure includes:
• Over 8,400 water meters serving approximately 24,000 residents
• Thirteen deep wells with combined pumping capacity exceeding 11 million gallons daily
• Twelve storage facilities totaling 5.7 million gallons capacity
• More than 600 miles of water transmission and distribution lines
• Four separate pressure zones with various subzones
For emergency preparedness, Consolidated Water maintains interconnections with Columbia, Ashland, and adjacent Water Districts to ensure continuous water supply during critical situations.
