Section 1) Safety Findings: We confirm that BOPU water meets all federal and local requirements for safety.

Section 2. Water Supply Sources: The BOPU utilizes both surface water and groundwater. Surface water comes from the Douglas Creek Drainage in the Snowy Range Mountains, approximately 75 miles west of Cheyenne. This water is stored in Rob Roy Reservoir before being transported to Granite and Crystal Reservoirs through dual pipeline systems.

Additional surface water is collected from the Crow Creek Drainage in the Pole Mountain/Vedauwoo area, roughly 30 miles west of Cheyenne. This water is stored across multiple reservoirs: North Crow Reservoir (North Crow Creek), Granite and Crystal Reservoirs (Middle Crow Creek), and South Crow Reservoir (South Crow Creek). Water flows from these reservoirs to the R.L. Sherard treatment facility via dedicated pipelines.

The City operates approximately 35 groundwater wells located west and northwest of Cheyenne, drawing from the Ogallala and White River Aquifers. Cheyenne also collects surface water from the Little Snake River Drainage, situated about 110 miles west of Cheyenne on the Continental Divide's western slope. This water travels through a tunnel for storage in Hog Park Reservoir on the eastern slope, and is exchanged for Douglas Creek Drainage water.

Section 3. Water Monitoring: Our Water Treatment Division continuously monitors for potential contaminants according to Federal regulations. The results table in Section 13 shows our most recent monitoring data (through 12/31/17), conducted in compliance with EPA Drinking Water Rules.

Section 4. Terminology Guide:

• Action Level (AL): Contaminant concentration that triggers treatment requirements
• Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL): Highest allowable level of a contaminant in water
• Maximum Contaminant Level Goal (MCLG): Contaminant level below which no health risk is known
• Nephelometric Turbidity Unit (NTU): Measures water clarity
• Parts per billion (ppb) or microgram per Liter (µg/L): One part per billion
• Parts per million (ppm) or milligram per Liter (mg/L): One part per million
• Picocurie per Liter (pCi/L): Measures radioactivity
• Treatment Technique (TT): Required process to reduce contaminant levels

Section 5. Compliance Status: As shown in our testing table, our system has no violations. We're proud that the municipal water provided by BOPU meets or exceeds all Federal requirements. While monitoring has detected some constituents, the EPA has determined that Cheyenne's water IS SAFE at these levels.
