Cleveland Water ranks among the major public water systems in the United States. Daily, we process and deliver up to 300 million gallons of water to more than 1.4 million residents and thousands of businesses, schools, churches and recreational facilities across 80 communities in Cuyahoga County and portions of four adjacent counties.

The health and safety of our customers remain our highest priority. We utilize advanced monitoring equipment and technology to ensure our systems provide clean, great-tasting water. At Cleveland Water, we continuously monitor over 20,000 parameters throughout the treatment process to verify our four plants operate properly. We also collect more than 350 samples monthly from our distribution network and conduct over 160,000 tests annually to ensure proper treatment and disinfection for customer safety.

Our commitment to delivering excellent water quality includes:

• Monitoring source water at multiple Lake Erie locations through buoy-mounted sensors extending from surface to bottom
• Testing lake water before it enters treatment facilities
• Testing water after each treatment stage
• Chemical analysis and taste-testing of finished water before distribution
• Analyzing water samples from various distribution system locations

Cleveland Water met or exceeded all treated water standards in 2017, but we hold ourselves to higher standards. Each water treatment plant has achieved advanced certification in the national Partnership for Safe Water program - a voluntary initiative among six water organizations and over 200 utilities aimed at enhancing public health protection beyond existing regulations.

We're also investing significantly in water infrastructure. Beyond recently completing modernization of our four treatment plants, we allocate $26 million annually to replace distribution mains delivering water to homes. We've developed a comprehensive long-term Capital Improvement Program that prioritizes infrastructure replacement to ensure we continue meeting customer water needs for generations to come.

Cleveland draws source water from four intakes positioned far offshore in Lake Erie's Central Basin. These intakes span over 15 miles and are located 3-5 miles from shore where water quality is superior and minimally affected by tributary runoff and coastal activities. Lake Erie is classified as a surface water source. We maintain emergency interconnections with nearby water systems but received no emergency water in 2017.

1. I want to have my water turned on. What do I do?
   Property must be inspected before starting new service. To schedule an inspection, contact the code department at 817-246-4971. Once the property has been inspected, visit the customer service counter at city hall with:
   • A rental agreement if renting or closing papers if you purchased the property
   • Money for a deposit
   • A valid U.S. Driver's license or identification card
   Deposit must be paid at time of application.
2. What are the deposit costs?
   Deposit rates are as follows:
   • Commercial Deposit: $200 Minimum
   • Residential Deposit Homeowner: $100 Cash or Card
   • Residential Deposit Rental Property: $150 Cash or Card
3. My large trash items/brush piles are not being picked up. What do I do?
   Bulk/Brush pickup occurs during the second full week of each month. You may begin placing items out for collection the Friday before. All items must be out before 7 a.m. that Monday. 4. How often is my water meter read?
   All meters are read electronically once monthly to generate accurate bills based on your water consumption. Sewer charges are calculated based on water usage.

1. How do I check my library account online?
   Visit the library catalog website. In the top right corner (or at the top on mobile), find the login area. Enter your library card number (the long number on the back of your card) and the phone number we have on file. After logging in, click "My Account" to access a menu where you can manage notifications, check your items and due dates, manage reserves, and more.
2. Why can't I log in?
   Several reasons might prevent successful login:
   • You previously changed your password from your phone number
   • You're using a new phone number not updated in our system
   • There may be a typo in your account information
   • You might be trying to access a family member's account with incorrect credentials

3. Can I get a library card if I don't live in White Settlement?
   Yes. Your first card is free with any Texas address. Check the "How to get a library card" page for acceptable ID and address verification before visiting. Replacement cards cost $10 if you've lost a previous card.

   Three renewal methods are available:
   • Bring items to the library (must have items present)
   • Log into your catalog account online
   • Call the library during operating hours
