About Us
The City of Kirkland is a proud member of the Chute Water Alliance (Cascade), joining communities like Bellevue, Issaquah, Redmond, and several districts. Cascade ensures residents receive secure, clean, and reliable water through environmentally responsible and cost-efficient methods.
Formed in 1999, Cascade works to guarantee water availability both today and for future generations. Kirkland is represented on the Cascade board by Councilmembers Penny Fairly sweet and Jon Pascal, who advocate for our community's long-term needs.
Cascade collaborates with other Central Puget Sound water providers to maximize existing water resources before developing new sources. For further information, visit www.cascadewater.org.
As a Cascade member, Kirkland purchases water from Seattle Public Resources (SPU), which is then distributed through Kirkland's water system. SPU conducts most water sampling and treatment, while Kirkland's Water Division maintains the distribution lines, pump stations, and storage reservoirs throughout our service area.
