The City of Post Falls water system maintains over 115 miles of water lines throughout the service area. In addition to the City, two other water districts provide water to the region. The system operates with 8 wells and 5 reservoirs, serving more than 7,000 residential and commercial properties through water meters that are monitored monthly via radio technology.
System water pressure typically ranges between 65-75 psi, with northern customers experiencing lower pressures while southern customers may have higher readings. Residents benefit from the Rathdrum Prairie Aquifer's clean, abundant water supply, which requires no additional treatment. Chlorine is added just once annually, typically in November, to maintain distribution system cleanliness.

Residents are welcome to attend City Council meetings held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6pm at Post Falls City Hall. Some individuals, including those with compromised immune systems (cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, organ transplant recipients, HIV/AIDS patients, elderly individuals, and infants) may be particularly vulnerable to waterborne contaminants.
