About Us
What Is in My Tap Water? Your water is regularly tested by certified professional water system operators and accredited laboratories to ensure safety standards are met. The City conducts routine tests on water from its wells and distribution system pipes for both bacterial and chemical contaminants, while Metropolitan oversees testing of the treated surface water purchased by the City. Pasadena is responsible for testing groundwater purchased by the City, but only within the Pasadena Zone.
The chart in this report displays the average and range of concentrations for substances tested in your tap water during 2017 or from the most recent testing period. The State Water Resources Control Board's Division of Drinking Water permits less frequent monitoring for certain contaminants since their concentrations in groundwater remain relatively stable. Some data, while representative, may be over a year old.
This chart lists all federally and state-regulated contaminants detected in your tap water, along with unregulated contaminants of interest. We're pleased to report that in 2017, the municipal water supplied to your home met or exceeded all federal and state drinking water standards. We remain dedicated to providing you with reliable, high-quality tap water.
