Tracy has partnered with the cities of Manteca, Lathrop, Puesto, and the South San Joaquin Irrigation District to deliver premium quality water from the Stanislaus River.
This water source has enhanced the reliability of city supplies by adding a third source and redundancy in treatment facilities. The Stanislaus River water comprises most of the city's usage and is the exclusive supply during winter months.
A notable benefit for residents is that this Stanislaus water supply is significantly softer, with much lower mineral content than previous sources. Many households may no longer need to use a water softener system, potentially saving on maintenance and operational costs.
