About Us
Primary Requirements: The United States Environmental Protection Agency establishes and monitors primary water standards. National Primary Municipal Water Regulations (NPMWRs) are legally enforceable standards that apply to public water systems. These primary standards protect community health by setting strict limits on contaminant levels in municipal water supplies.
Secondary Standards: National Secondary Municipal Water Regulations (NSMWRs) are non-enforceable guidelines addressing contaminants that may cause aesthetic effects (like skin or tooth discoloration) or cosmetic effects (such as taste, odor, or color) in your water supply, but don't pose immediate health risks.

Clackamas River Water ("CRW" or "District") operates as a local water service cooperative organized under Chapter 264 of the Oregon Revised Statutes. CRW directly serves approximately 50,000 residents, with service extending to nearly 80,000 people when wholesale customer populations are included.
The district maintains over 45 years of exceptional water treatment operations, serving roughly 12,000 service connections through a comprehensive distribution network of approximately 262 pipeline miles, 14 reservoirs, and 11 pump stations.
CRW was established in July 1995 through the consolidation of Clackamas Water District and Clairmont Water District. The original Clackamas Water District formed in 1926, later incorporating the former Stanley Water District in 1979 and merging with Barwell Park Water District in 1991. Clairmont was initially established in 1959 and later merged with the Redland and Holcomb-Outlook Water Districts in 1983.
