Where does Clinton's water originate? Most of our supply comes from various reservoirs, the Weber River, and Wasatch Front creeks. This surface water is treated and purchased from Weber Basin Water Conservancy District. We utilize deep well water as a supplementary source when necessary.

Clinton City regularly monitors water quality in accordance with Federal and Utah State regulations. Our testing results from January 1st through December 31st, 2017 are available for public review. Below are key terms to help understand the reporting:

  • Non-Detects (ND): Laboratory analysis indicates the constituent is not present
  • Range: Low to High: Shows the lowest and highest values detected across multiple water sources
  • Parts per million (ppm): Equivalent to one minute in two years or one penny in $10,000
  • Parts per billion (ppb): Equivalent to one minute in 2,000 years or one penny in $10,000,000
  • Picocuries per litre (pCi/L): Measurement of water radioactivity
  • Nephelometric Turbidity Unit (NTU): Measures water clarity - turbidity over 5 NTU becomes noticeable
  • Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL): Highest allowable level of a contaminant in municipal water
  • Maximum Contaminant Level Goal (MCLG): Contaminant level below which no known health risks exist
