About Us
The Water Source Protection Plan for Highland City is available for your review. It contains essential information about source protection zones, potential contamination sources, and management strategies to protect our water supply. Our water sources have been assessed to have a low vulnerability level from potential contamination risks.
We have implemented additional management protocols to further safeguard our sources from contamination. Please contact us with any questions regarding our source protection plan.
There are numerous connections throughout our water distribution system. When properly installed and maintained, these connections pose minimal risk. However, unauthorized or improper piping arrangements can adversely affect both availability and quality of your water.
A cross connection could allow pollutants or chemicals to enter the water supply when not properly protected. This compromises water quality and potentially impacts your health. What can you do to help? Never create or permit improper connections at your home. Even an unattended garden hose lying in a puddle creates a cross connection, as does an unsecured lawn sprinkler system after fertilizing or spraying.
If cross connections exist at your property, your family faces the first risk. For information about protecting water quality, please contact us to learn how you can help. We're pleased to report that our water meets all federal and state requirements.
For questions about this report or our water utility, please contact Justin Parduhn at 801-772-4523. We want our valued customers to be informed about their water utility. To learn more, attend our regularly scheduled meetings held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 7:00 pm at the Highland City Office.
Highland City routinely monitors for constituents in our water as required by Federal and Utah State regulations. The table in our annual report shows monitoring results from January 1st to December 31st, 2017. All municipal water, including bottled water, can reasonably be expected to contain at least small amounts of some constituents. Remember that the presence of these constituents does not necessarily indicate a health risk.
