About Us
We're pleased to share this year's Annual Municipal Water Quality Report with you. This document provides detailed information about the quality of water and services we deliver daily. Our commitment is to provide safe, reliable water while continuously improving our treatment processes and protecting our valuable water resources.
Our water meets all quality standards established by State and Federal agencies. For questions or additional information, please contact Thomas P. McCarthy, Borough of Collingswood Water Department Superintendent, at 856-854-2332 or email at tmccarthy@collingswood.com.
The Borough of Collingswood Commission meets on the first Monday of each month at 7 pm. We welcome public participation in decisions affecting our municipal water quality.
Our Service Area: The Borough of Collingswood supplies water to all of Collingswood, Woodlynne and portions of Haddon Township. Our system spans approximately 50 linear miles of water mains ranging from 4" to 16" with over 6,000 active service connections serving roughly 21,000 residents. All business and residential connections are metered.
Water Source: The Borough currently obtains its entire water supply from five underground confined wells in the Potomac Raritan Magothy Aquifer geological formation. These wells range from 250 to 320 feet deep and are located throughout Collingswood. Four wells are situated near the Highland & Hillcrest Ave Water Treatment Plant at 215 Hillcrest Ave, with the remaining well at Comly & Cattell Avenue Water Treatment Plant. Groundwater is pumped to our primary treatment facility through underground pipes, where it undergoes purification before distribution to customers.
