Colorado Water Utility Companies

The Consolidated Mutual Water Organization is pleased to present its 2017 Annual Water Quality Report in accordance with EPA National Primary Municipal Water Regulations. This report provides customers with information about water supply quality as required by law.

Consolidated Mutual serves its area from two separate water treatment systems: the larger Denver Contract area supplied by Denver Water facilities, and the Company-owned Maple Grove Water Treatment Plant area. Both deliver high-quality water meeting Safe Drinking Water Act standards with Class "A" certified operators as required by regulations. Water analysis is conducted by certified laboratories following current protocols.

Water Supply Safety
The Company recognizes potential risks to U.S. water supplies and has implemented comprehensive security measures including federal vulnerability assessment completion, enhanced facility security, and expanded sampling protocols. Maintaining water quality remains our highest priority.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has provided a Source Water Assessment Report that you can access at www.colorado.gov/cipher/car under "Guidance: Source Water Assessment Reports" (search for 130020, CONSOLIDATED MUTUAL MAPLE GROVE).

Water Sources
• Maple Grove Area: Water comes primarily (90%) from Clear Creek with the remainder from Lena Gulch. These sources are generally healthy with minimal industrial activity in the watershed.
• Denver Water Area: Surface waters from watersheds covering over 3,100 square miles on both Continental Divide sides, transported from Colorado, Fraser and South Platte Rivers.

Treatment Technology
Denver Water operates three complete treatment plants (Foothills, Marston and Moffat) that are regularly maintained and upgraded to keep pace with technological advancements and regulatory requirements.

Important Health Information
All water, including bottled water, can reasonably contain small amounts of contaminants without necessarily posing health risks. Some individuals may be more vulnerable to contaminants, including immunocompromised persons (cancer patients undergoing treatment, organ transplant recipients, HIV/AIDS patients, some elderly, and infants). These individuals should seek medical advice about their drinking water.

Potential Contaminants
As water travels over land or underground, it can pick up various substances:
• Microbial contaminants: viruses and bacteria from sewage plants, septic systems, livestock, and wildlife
• Inorganic contaminants: naturally-occurring salts and metals or those from urban runoff, wastewater discharges, oil/gas production, and agriculture
• Herbicides: from agriculture, urban runoff, and residential uses
• Radioactive contaminants: naturally occurring or from oil/gas production and mining
• Organic chemicals: industrial byproducts, petroleum production, gas stations, urban runoff, and septic systems

Lead in Water
High lead levels can cause serious health issues, especially for pregnant women and young children. While we provide high-quality water, we cannot control materials used in household plumbing. If water has been sitting for several hours, you can minimize potential lead exposure by flushing your tap for 30 seconds to 2 minutes before using water for drinking or cooking.

For more information or questions about this report, contact us or attend the Annual Stockholder Meeting on May 10, 2018, 6:30 p.m. at 12700 W. 27th Ave. We strive to keep our valued customers informed about our services and the quality water we deliver daily.
