DELTONA WATER QUALITY REPORT
We're pleased to present this year's Annual Water Quality Report. This document aims to inform you about the quality of water and services we deliver to your home daily. Our primary goal is to provide you with a safe, reliable water supply. We're dedicated to continuously improving our water treatment processes and protecting our water resources.
WATER SOURCE
Our water comes from the Floridian Aquifer groundwater system. Treatment includes aeration, chlorine addition, chloramine disinfection, and phosphate-based corrosion control chemicals. Deltona Water serves Stone Island and Enterprise areas, with system interconnects to other county locations as needed.
Water sources (both tap and bottled) include rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, reservoirs, springs, and wells. As water travels across land or underground, it dissolves minerals, sometimes radioactive materials, and can pick up substances from animal presence or human activity. Potential source water contaminants include:
- Microbial contaminants from sewage treatment plants, septic systems, agricultural operations, and wildlife
- Inorganic contaminants like salts and metals occurring naturally or from urban runoff, industrial wastewater, oil/gas production, or farming
- Pesticides and herbicides from agriculture, urban runoff, and residential uses

SOURCE WATER ASSESSMENTS
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection created the Source Water Assessment and Protection Program under the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act to ensure source water protection. This program evaluates potential contamination sources near our wells. In 2017, the assessment identified 15 potential pollution sources with moderate susceptibility levels.
