About Us
During 2016, Gainesville's Department of Municipal Water Resources conducted over 2,700 laboratory analyses testing for more than 75 water quality parameters. This report provides information about your water's source, composition, and how it measures against standards established by regulatory agencies.
Our utility division is dedicated to providing residents with clean, safe, and reliable tap water. The tables in this report list all water contaminants detected throughout the 2016 calendar year. The presence of these substances doesn't necessarily indicate a health risk.
Unless noted otherwise, data presented comes from testing conducted January 1 - December 31, 2016. Georgia's Environmental Protection Division requires monitoring for certain contaminants less than once yearly since their concentrations typically don't fluctuate significantly year over year. Some information, while representative of current water quality, may be several years old.
