Greeneville Water & Light Comm. Municipal Water Report Info

The GWC water treatment facility is a 16 MGD operation that has been supplying Greeneville and Greene County with clean water for over a century. The plant features a 32 MG storage reservoir that ensures residents have a 2-3 day emergency water supply if issues arise at the river intake facility.

The treatment plant has earned several accolades, including "Best Tasting Water in Upper East Tennessee" multiple times in the past decade. David Ricker, Chief Water Plant Operator, has also been recognized with the "Operator of the Year" award for excellence in water operations.

Currently, the facility is constructing an additional intake facility to enhance redundancy for customers. The plant serves approximately 10,000 customers with an average daily production of 9 MGD.
