About Us
High Hills Rural Water Company is proud to present our Annual Municipal Water Quality Report as required by the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA). This report provides valuable information about your water quality and our services.
Our water is sourced from five deep wells drawing from the Black Creek and Upper Tuscaloosa Aquifers. We routinely monitor for contaminants according to federal and state regulations to ensure safe drinking water for our community.
Water quality testing shows our water meets or exceeds all Federal and State requirements. While some substances are detected, the EPA has determined these levels are safe. Our monitoring results from January-December 2016 showed minimal detection of substances like Nitrate (0.24 ppm), Sodium (4.5 ppm), and Fluoride (1.9 ppm).
Regarding lead exposure, High Hills is responsible for providing quality water but cannot control materials used in home plumbing. If concerned about lead, flush your tap for 30 seconds to 2 minutes before using water for consumption.
Our dedicated team works diligently to protect water resources and provide reliable service to the Dalzell community. We hold monthly meetings on the second Monday at 6:00 PM at our office (please call ahead as space is limited).
For questions or more information about this report, please contact John Loney at (803) 499-4118, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.
