Joint Water Commission Municipal Water Report Info
The Joint Water Commission (JWC) stands as Washington County, Oregon's primary municipal water supplier, responsible for treatment, transmission, and storage of potable water serving over 365,000 customers.

The JWC is jointly owned by four entities: the Cities of Hillsboro, Forest Grove, Beaverton, and the Tualatin Valley Water District (TVWD). Additionally, JWC wholesales water to the City of North Plains.

As Oregon's largest conventional treatment facility, the JWC Water Treatment Plant consistently delivers exceptionally high-quality drinking water that meets and exceeds all minimum compliance standards established by the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Safe Drinking Water Act.

Originally constructed in 1976 through collaboration between Hillsboro and Forest Grove, the initial plant had a 21.3 Million Gallons per Day (MGD) capacity. Through strategic expansions accommodating the addition of Beaverton, TVWD, and population growth, the facility now processes up to 75 MGD.
