About Us
Last year, our team analyzed over 2,241 samples, evaluating more than 800 potential water impurities. We're pleased to report no contaminant violations were discovered. This report provides a snapshot of your water quality from the previous year.
We've included details about your water source, composition, and how it compares to EPA standards. We believe in transparency and want to keep you informed. For additional information about your water, please call 478-743-3211.
Special Population Advisory: Certain individuals may be more vulnerable to water contaminants than the general population. Those with compromised immune systems—including cancer patients undergoing treatment, organ transplant recipients, people with HIV/AIDS or other immune disorders, elderly individuals, and infants—may face increased health risks. These individuals should seek guidance from healthcare providers regarding their drinking water.
EPA/CDC guidelines on reducing infection risks from Cryptosporidium and other microbial contaminants are available through the Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 800-426-4791.
Lead Information: Elevated lead levels can cause serious health problems, particularly for pregnant women and young children. Lead in tap water primarily comes from materials in service lines and home plumbing components. While Jones County Water System provides quality water, we cannot control the materials used in residential plumbing.
If your water has been sitting for several hours, you can minimize potential lead exposure by running your tap for 30 seconds to 2 minutes before using water for consumption or cooking. If concerned about lead, consider having your water tested. Information about lead in water, testing methods, and exposure reduction is available from the Safe Drinking Water Hotline or at http://www.eps.gov/safewater/lead.
