SRWSA draws water from the Floridan Aquifer through five wells, each 800 feet deep. The Floridan aquifer ranks among the world's most productive aquifers and is considered one of the five cleanest water sources globally, according to the Florida Water Atlas at the University of South Florida. This aquifer delivers approximately 3 billion gallons daily across its 100,000 square mile span, which covers parts of five states (Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Mississippi).
