About Us
Indianapolis Avenue Phase II infrastructure updates are currently underway as most of the City's water systems are reaching end-of-life status. This project involves replacing outdated 6-inch and 8-inch water mains with approximately 2,850 feet of modern 16-inch main along Indianapolis Avenue, from Hendricks Drive to Spencer Avenue in the southeast section of Lebanon.
Multiple easements are being secured along the route as part of the comprehensive road project. These acquisitions are expected to be completed early in the 4th Quarter, with construction scheduled from November 2016 through March 2017. Total project investments include $55,000 for design and bidding, approximately $1,100,000 for construction costs, and $95,000 for inspection services.
The Lafayette Avenue project includes installation of roughly 3,250 feet of new 12-inch water main between Chicago Street and Riley Road. Though major portions are complete, work beneath the railroad may face delays pending CSX Railway reviews. This project has a total cost of $600,330.43, with $269,833.84 already disbursed.
Additional infrastructure upgrades include:
- Generator and Switchgear replacement at the Water Treatment Plant
- Water Controls modernization of the 28-year-old Laurel Control system
- Well Improvement and Treatment maintenance program for the city's 10 active wells
- Enterprise Boulevard Expansion to support retail, recreation, and residential development
These investments are crucial for maintaining reliable water service while preparing for future community growth and development. The Enterprise Boulevard expansion, in particular, will require significant water infrastructure planning as the project extends from SR 39 to County Highway 100 East.
